Torah Companion uses Device Owner mode, which controls the device at the operating system level. There's no browser to filter because no browser exists. Factory reset bricks the device rather than removing protection. This is the same enterprise security used by hospitals and government agencies - not a filter app that runs on top of Android.

For security reasons, users cannot install apps themselves. However, we regularly add new apps based on customer requests. Contact us if there's a specific Torah app you'd like added, and we can push it to your device via OTA update if it meets our criteria.

Yes! Torah Companion includes both 24Six and Zing music streaming apps. With a Premium subscription, you get unlimited access to thousands of kosher music albums. Music can be downloaded for offline listening too.

Yes - this is one of Torah Companion's biggest advantages. The Premium subscription includes a downloadable offline library of 50,000+ Torah texts including complete Shas, Mishnayos, Tanach, Shulchan Aruch, and major meforshim. Once downloaded, it works without any internet connection.

The offline library includes: Complete Talmud Bavli and Yerushalmi, all of Mishnayos, Tanach with major meforshim, Shulchan Aruch, Rambam, Tur, and thousands of other seforim. It's sourced from Sefaria's comprehensive database of 50,000+ Hebrew texts.

The device is a one-time purchase ($199 or $249). Only the Premium subscription is monthly ($7.99/mo). We don't currently offer device financing, but the one-time cost is comparable to a few months of filtered phone service.

No. There is no web browser on Torah Companion - not a filtered one, not a hidden one, none at all. The device can only access the internet through the 26 approved apps, which are limited to their specific Torah content. General web browsing is impossible.

WhatsApp is available as an optional add-on for an additional fee. If added, it's configured with appropriate restrictions. Contact us to discuss if WhatsApp is right for your family's needs.

Factory reset triggers Device Owner protection, which bricks the device. It cannot be restored without returning it to Torah Companion. This is a security feature that prevents bypassing the device's protections.

Yes - Torah Companion is specifically designed to be safe for all ages. The Device Owner security cannot be bypassed regardless of technical skill. Many yeshivos that reject filtered phones accept Torah Companion because of this unbreakable protection.

Updates are pushed automatically over WiFi (OTA - Over The Air). When an update is available, you'll see a notification. Updates include new features, app updates, and security improvements. No action needed on your part.

Torah Companion includes a 1-year warranty covering manufacturing defects. If your device breaks, contact us for repair or replacement options. Your Premium subscription and settings transfer to the replacement device automatically.

Yes! Torah Companion works anywhere with WiFi. Before traveling, download the offline Torah library and any shiurim you want. The offline content works without any internet connection - perfect for flights, hotels, or areas without reliable WiFi.

Torah Companion provides 8-12 hours of active use depending on screen brightness and whether you're streaming or using offline content. Standby time is several days. The device charges via USB-C and reaches full charge in about 2 hours.
